How did the charity start?
Francine Levin was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1993. It was during her treatment that she realised how many children got cancer and how gruelling their treatment was. It was in 1994 that Stuart and Francine Levin launched the charity to give these children the reward they so rightly deserved.
Does a child have to be terminally ill to apply like other charities?
No, we deliberately worded our criteria to read “sick and terminally ill”
Where do your cases come from?
The vast majority of case are put forward by social workers.
How long does it take to make a "Dream" come true
Because we are a small charity, a dream is only a phone call away to a fellow trustee. A dream can come true within 24 hours.
Why is Make A Dream different to other similar charities
We are only a small committe made up of volunteers and therefore cases can be responded to almost immediately.
What percentage of dreams have you managed to grant?
Make a Dream have managed to grant 98% of all requests.
